Disgusting Dishonesty

at Newsweek.  A story in the current issue harks back to the Moynihan Report if the sixties, in which future Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan saw the coming collapse of the black family in America.

I lack the energy to fisk this sucker, but observe the statement:
Also, the very fact that many social indicators got better (crime rates went down, educational rates went up) even as single-parent families were on the rise shows that something more complicated was going on than Moynihan realized, Coontz contends.

From the sixties to the eighties or so, crime rates went up, not down.  And when they did start coming down, it was because we threw unprecedented numbers of people into prison.

Is the author of the Newsweek story really this ignorant, or just dishonest? YOU MAKE THE CALL!

THE HOUSE OF SAUD MUST BE DESTROYED -- AND WILL BE!
