I Don't Get It -- OH!  Never Mind!

For years, I've heard the Main Stream Media say that "Sure, we have opinions, but that doesn't affect our coverage.'

So, last year, a reporter at the Boston Globe, one Hiawatha Bray, used a blog to express his opinions of political events.  Note, this was a blog.  We ain't talking stories in newspapers.

When the Globe found out he was blogging, they reprimanded him, and made him stop!  They said:
Responds [Globe Editor Martin] Baron: ''Mr. Bray is a technology reporter and did not cover the presidential campaign, other than a minor technology-related story on very rare occasions. That said, his blog postings were inappropriate and in violation of our standards." Thus, the November warning.

So what's the fuss about?  Bray didn't let his politics get in the way of his reporting (he reports on technology, not politics).  And in any case, the MSM claim has always been that such opinions are put on hold when reporting a story anyway.  I mean, its not like saying that he's in favor of Kerry over Bush on a blog is slanting a story or anything.  And what about the First Amendment?  Don't people have the right to express themselves?

Oh wait.  Bray was pro-Bush.  Obviously, that's different.

THE HOUSE OF SAUD MUST BE DESTROYED -- AND WILL BE!
