Hypocritical Nonsense

Glenn Reynolds links to a Larry Kudlow column on how awful it is that the government is spending money for things Kudlow and Reynolds don't approve of.  "IT'S A DREARY POLITICAL SPRING for small-government types."

But Reynolds is almost beside himself with joy that various state governments and foreign governments are spending money to finance stem-cell research.  That cause he approves of, so we should all get behind it, and small government be damned.

I hereby predict that stem-cell research will turn out not to create the great breakthroughs we are supposed to see from it.  Like many another miracle technology, the whole thing will turn out to be a con job by scientists who want public funds to satisfy their curiosity.  But whether I'm right or wrong, it's annoying to see the people who get all moralistic over highway construction bills and such, and criticize the GOP for not cutting their throats at the polls in the name of 'principle' abandon such principles in a split-second when the spending is for something they want.

      Feh.

THE HOUSE OF SAUD MUST BE DESTROYED -- AND WILL BE!
