Ah, those little clues that reveal so much

So, I'm reading the principal conclusions of the Duelfer Report on Iraq's WMD program (in html here, or the damnable PDF format here), and I notice this sentence:
His [Saddam's] initial belief that UN sanctions would not last, resulting in his [Saddam's] country‚Äôs economic decline, changed by 1998 when the UNSC did not lift sanctions after he [Saddam] believed resolutions were fulfilled.

Now, Saddam Hussein never showed himself to be a complete moron.  The UN resolutions said he not only had to get rid of forbidden weapons, he had to prove to the UN inspectors that he'd done so.

But Saddam not only never proved it, he continually sought to prevent UNSCOM from doing its job.  The idea that the Butcher of Baghdad thought he'd complied with the resolutions is laughable.

And the fact that the Duelfer Report is willing to believe such nonsense tells you 'Look very carefully

THE HOUSE OF SAUD MUST BE DESTROYED — AND WILL BE!
