A Must Read Post From Pamela

Pamela at Atlas Shrugs points out the Iranian situation is getting down to short strokes.  If things are allowed to continue along their present course, there will be a second Holocaust.

  • Within a few months, Iran will be able to begin enriching uranium to bomb grade.

  • The European Union and United Nations will do what they've been doing: bluff and bluster.

  • The EU and UN will consider sanctions, but won't impose any that would force Iran into compliance with non-proliferation.

  • The Israelis will attack Iran's known and suspected enrichment facilities.

  • The EU and UN will "evenhandedly" condemn the would be murderers and would be victims.

  • The questions are, what will we do?  What should we do?

  • I say we should back Israel to the hilt.

At Length:

Atlas Shrugs looks at the situation in Iran, and points out what's at stake.  Within three months, Iran will be able to enrich uranium to bomb grade, and in a few more years at most, it will be able to build nukes.  The Iranians are already buying Intermediate Range Ballistic Missiles from North Korea.  If it acquires atomic weapons, Iran will mount them on those rockets, and use them to destroy Israel (and no, there will be no "restraint."  Get a copy of this book, and read the political background chapter detailing the way in which Arab politicians' use of Jew hatred pushed leaders who might have made peace with Israel into unrelenting hostility).  Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Iran's real leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, have been calling for the destruction of Israel recently, and trying to get public support for their dream of genocide.  What is new is not the sentiment, though, but the fact that Iran will soon be able to accomplish it.  If things are allowed to continue along their present course, there will be a second Holocaust.

Israel is not going to sit idle while its destruction is prepared.  So in 2006, when the Euroweasels demonstrate yet again their unwillingness to stop Iran, Israel will strike.  We will be blamed, of course, but that really doesn't matter.  The important issue is, 'How strongly will we support Israel?'

My stand: we should support them all the way, to point of invading Iran if necessary.  And no, I don't like that prospect, especially since we're still dealing with Iraq.  Anything we can do to mitigate the problems should be done.  But better all the troubles we'll bring on ourselves, rather than being passive accomplices to "Holocaust II: This Time With A-Bombs," as we were with Holocaust I.
