Speaking of Which . . .

In re to two earlier posts of mine today, I note the following, which Instapundit published on That Day:
Someone will propose new "Antiterrorism" legislation.  It will be full of things off of bureaucrats' wish lists.  They will be things that wouldn't have prevented these attacks even if they had been in place yesterday.  Many of them will be civil-liberties disasters.  Some of them will actually promote the kind of ill-feeling that breeds terrorism.  That's what happened in 1996. Let's not let it happen again.

The Blogfather's own comment on this passage, four year later:
        Yeah, I can call 'em.

So, I think it's fair to say 'Glenn, would you care to cite some passages of the USA PATRIOT Act that would not have prevented any terrorist attacks if they'd been law in 2001, along with the evidence that they wouldn't have prevented the attacks?  Can you show us some of the civil liberties disasters that have occurred as a result of the passage of the USA PATRIOT Act?  And please produce at least one terrorist who was tipped over the line into plotting against the U.S. by the USA PATRIOT Act.  Since, after all, it was you who brought this up.'
